35-acre lake stocked with trout.Just 16 feet at its deepest point, it is kept cold by its natural underground springs. Rowboats can be rented at the boathouse during park hours. 11,000 acres of State DEC forest land borders the park.
Public access at many points on the Chenango River. The Chenango River comes to life in a swamp near Morrisville in Madison County and flows south for 119 miles through the Chenango Valley to join the Susquehanna River in Binghamton. Its average gradient is less than 4 feet per mile, making it one of the most gently sloping streams in New York State.

McDonough, Smithville Flats, NY
The Genegantslet Creek not only supports trout populations, it is considered to be one of the premiere trout streams in the region. This stream holds native brook trout and is annually stocked with brown trout. This DEC fishing access site is located just outside of Genegantslet State Forest. There is a small accessible fishing platform with parking.
